Each year the San Marcos Education Foundation hosts a recognition banquet for high performing students and teachers in honor of their academic accomplishments.
The honored guests are celebrated for exemplifying the Foundation's mission to enrich teaching and inspire learning. The evening serves as an opportunity for the San Marcos community to acknowledge students who have met the highest expectations of academic achievement as well as the teachers who helped them get there.

At the end of each academic year the San Marcos Education Foundation celebrates the contributions of a select group of San Marcos CISD educators by recognizing a Teacher of the Year from each campus. During a recognition banquet, a high definition video presentation courtesy of Time Warner Cable, acknowledges the accomplishments and peer endorsements of each teacher.
In addition, each teacher is presented with a commemorative plaque, a gift bag and a cash honorarium courtesy of CenturyTel.
From this group of superior educators, one teacher is selected as the San Marcos CISD Teacher of the Year.
